Samples should be kept at 4°C. Ship to arrive within 24 hour of sampling. Freezing is a good choice for water sample preservation in many cases.

** These are recommended times with no preservatives. Preservatives may be added before or after filling the sample bottle, however, some space should be allowed for effective mixing of the preservative.

For samples with hold times less than 48 hours, 6 days advance notice is normally required.

Holding times are EPA recommended. When delivering samples to the laboratory please ensure that travel and sample processing time is taken into account.
